World Metrology Day: It was established by the International Organization of the Metric Convention and the International Organization of Legal Metrology to commemorate the signing of the Metric Convention on 20 May 1875, and in 1999, the International Conference on Weights and Measures voted to adopt the date of the signing of the Metric Convention (20 May) as the World Metrology Day from the year 2000 onwards.
This year's theme is "Measurements supporting the global food system".
